It took me a few combinations of faffing about to get Outlook to register the new settings. Something else to try, because this issue is basically caused by the program defaults not registering properly, can you install a browser that is not currently installed at all on your system.
For example if you don't have Firefox, install it, or if you have all the main ones on there, try Vivaldi or Opera or something. Then set one of those to default and see if out look registers it correctly.
Failing that uninstall all third party browsers, reboot and allow windows to select its default browser. Finally reinstall either chrome or firefox to start again and hopefully that should sort it.
PCS is an IT service provider. Same problem from Word Links won't open. I am the administrator. Anybody know where the fix is for this? Tried Word options, and Default Apps so far. Can't see any obvious fixes from there. Had the same problem today with one of my peeps - she only had Internet Explorer 11 on her PC, so I installed Google Chrome would rather have done Firefox, but the company does Chrome and now she can open Outlook email links again!
